Blythburgh Blanket
Blythburgh Blanket
This blanket takes its name from the small Suffolk village and draws inspiration from the much worn and much repaired floor of its medieval church. The pattern is made up of a series of large scale blocks and bands in a mix of chalk, oatmeal, plaster pink, straw, rust and charred black. Fine score-lines runs across the surface of the blanket creating a subtle ribbed texture.
For more about the story behind the blanket please see the journal post here. Blythburgh is the first blanket in my East Anglian Quintet.
