An Eye for Detail
This is pattern-maker, colour-queen and photographer Kangan Arora in her London print studio.
Alongside her design practice - which includes an own-label product range as well as numerous collaborations with big brands such as REN skincare and Ikea - Kangan also teaches at Central Saint Martins. She brings an energy and enthusiasm to everything she does.
Over the years Kangan has come into our studio for a morning here and there to capture the everyday details of our studio life. The photographs she has taken have become an invaluable part of the way we tell our story.
Kangan works quickly and unobtrusively. Her photography kit is simple and she is light on her feet, always using natural daylight. We just get on with our work around her, and she simply watches through her lens.
The results are always wonderful. Her eye for detail - for capturing the everyday - is superb. The images she makes are never styled or contrived - they are simply beautifully framed little vignettes, perfect in composition and balance.
Kangan’s travel and design photo essays are joyful pieces which celebrate the ingenuity and creativity of the human spirit.
