De la Espada
We are delighted to have our Broadchalke blanket included in the latest volume by De La Espada.
De La Espada are a luxury contemporary furniture brand with production based in Portugal. They work closely with a small select group of designers comprising of Neri & Hu, Luca Nichetto, Matthew Hilton, Studioilse and Autoban.
The De La Espada books are beautifully created under the art direction of Simon Kaempfer, with photography by Yuki Sugiura.
Shot in different locations in Portugal, the images reflect the very best in contemporary and historical Portuguese architecture and interiors. There is a real affinity between the spaces, the landscapes and the furniture, reflecting De La Espada's ethos of an honesty of process and a celebration of natural materials.
Top left is Casa No Tempo in Alentejo. Imaginatively converted by architect Manuel Aires Mateus, the building is set in a wonderful landscape of wild meadow and cork trees.
The images above - shot in the 'Red House' - include our Broadchalke blanket alongside the Armstrong sofa, armchair and coffee table by Matthew Hilton.
The 'Red House' (above right and left) is an old vinyard just south of Lisbon, sensitively converted by Extrastudio and with wonderful landscape design by Oficina dos Jardins.
The images above, from the previous De La Espada volume, show our Northerly blanket on the Bretton bed by Matthew Hilton.
The bedroom is in the Casa Da Escrita in Coimbra. Formerly the residence of poet Joao Cochofel, the space was thoughtfully updated by architect Joao Mendes Ribeiro and is now used for literary events and writing residencies.
And finally below is our Sourdough on the Capo bed by Neri & Hu, shot in the Casa Da Escrita in Coimbra.
The books are really wonderful and it is always a pleasure to be involved in such exceptional work.
